The pace of construction of health post buildings in Dolakha has been slow after the devastating earthquake of 2072 BS. Reconstruction of health posts in Dolakha has been slow after the construction and handover of only one health post building in Dolakha during the five-year period.

According to Ram Sharan Neupane, Sub-Engineer, District Project Implementation Unit Building, Dolakha, only the Malu Health Post of Tamakoshi Village Municipality has been rebuilt and handed over after the earthquake.According to Neupane, health post buildings are currently under construction in Suspakshmawati of Bhimeshwar Municipality, Chyama of Tamakoshi Municipality and Fasku of Hawa and Shailung Municipalities. According to the District Project Implementation Unit Building, contracts have been signed for the construction of Orang of Vigu Municipality, Pawati of Melung Municipality, Maizewari of Bhimeshwar Municipality and Shailung Health Post of Shailung Municipality.

Similarly, the tender process has been started for the construction of 17 health post buildings at different local levels of the district, said District Project Implementation Unit Bhawan Dolakha. Similarly, Vibhu Jha, chief of the District Health Office, Dolakha, said that the Bagmati government has started the process of constructing a health post in Jaffe of Tamakoshi village municipality.There are concrete health post buildings in Laduk, Bulung and Khopachagu of Vigu village municipality and Sunkhani and Sundravati of Kalinchok village municipality which were constructed before the earthquake and completed after the earthquake.Health workers working in health posts have complained that there is a problem in providing services as there is no concrete building of the government office to provide direct health services to the rural people.After the earthquake, pre-fab buildings have been constructed in some health posts and some are providing services from trusses. He said that while providing health services from the truss made of zinc, the health of the health workers is being negatively affected.

Gopal Shiwakoti of Bhimeshwor Municipality-1, who has retired from the health sector after working for a long time, said that the government has given less priority to the health sector due to the delay in the construction of health posts directly related to the health of the people.At present, there are two government hospitals, two health centers and 53 health posts in Dolakha, according to the District Health Office.
