The indefinite transport has been closed due to disagreement between Chandannath Municipality and transport businessmen over bus park operation. Entrepreneurs have stopped traffic saying that the municipality has ignored their demand.

The businessmen had protested saying that the Chandannath Municipality was going to operate the bus park by unilaterally fixing the tax. They have drawn the attention of the municipality demanding a reduction in the exorbitant charges levied on the bus park, but they have declared a traffic closure. Deuti Transport Authority in-charge Tejendra Hitan said that all long and short distance means of transport have been closed since Friday. “Operating the bus park is a good thing,” he said, “but the tax was determined unilaterally without any discussion with stakeholders and businessmen.”

Though the businessmen stopped the traffic, the discussion could not move forward as Mayor Kantika Sejuwal and Chief Administrative Officer were not in the district.
