Nepal Electricity Authority Jumla Distribution Center has made public the load shedding schedule. The schedule of load shedding at various places where electricity is distributed was made public on Sunday.

As per schedule, power supply will be cut off for 9 hours daily. Load shedding will take place in Tundikhel, Bahini, Mahatgaon, Micha, Gauragaon and Hospital areas from 12 noon to 1:30 pm and from 8:30 pm to 12 noon.Similarly, load shedding will take place in Big Vijayanagar, Small Vijayanagar, Bohoragaun and Bus Park areas from 12:30 pm to 9:30 pm (9 hours).According to the Jumla Distribution Center of Nepal Electricity Authority, load shedding has been going on for a long time due to high demand and low supply of electricityAccording to Gaurav Pandey, head of the distribution center, the demand for electricity in Chandannath municipality alone ranges from 800 kW to 1 MW. Jumla has not received electricity from the national transmission line. Electricity is distributed from small hydropower project Jumla.Local projects in Jumla currently generate 220 kilowatts of electricity.

“There is a demand of at least 800 kilowatts of electricity in Chandannath municipality, the area where we are distributing electricity,” Pandey said. “At present, the production capacity is 220 kilowatts.He said that the power house had to be shut down from time to time due to low water flow, low power generation and high consumption.According to Pandey, the power house should be closed every day from 2 to 5 in the morning, from 8 to 10 in the evening and from 4 to 6 in the evening. He said that the flow of water has decreased due to lack of snowfall.The electricity distribution system, which was being distributed earlier through the local consumer committee, has come under the ownership of NEA since June 2077 BS.Ward Chairman of Chandannath Municipality-5 Arjun Singh Kathayat said that there would be load shedding in Jumla in the previous years as well. “Even before, there were frequent power outages. There was at least 8 hours of load shedding except during the rainy season, ‘he said.’ Since there is a field under the power house, there was load shedding for 15 to 20 days during planting. ‘

Ward Chairman Kathayat said that the load shedding has not stopped even though it was hoped that the load shedding would be reduced after the NEA takes ownership.
